Looking to build your career in fixed income trading, working directly alongside a head trader.
A proprietary trading firm is hiring a Junior Trader to join its fixed income team. You’ll help identify relative value opportunities, support execution and monitor risk, developing your understanding of how a proprietary trading desk operates.
Your day will involve tracking market moves, liquidity and macroeconomic developments, analysing positions and building tools that support trading decisions. You’ll work closely with senior traders, research, risk and operations, with plenty to learn and a requirement to stay engaged when markets get busy.
You’ll need at least six months of experience on a relative value trading desk, ideally with exposure to fixed income. A disciplined approach, attention to detail and the ability to take feedback and apply it will be key.
This suits someone who enjoys following markets, wants to understand the reasoning behind each trade and is prepared to put in the work to develop.
Up to 125k base + bonus.
The position is based on-site in the Chicago area.
