Job Description

\n

New Hope’s Education Department has an immediate opening for a Special Education Certified Teacher. This position provides appropriate education for children enrolled in our on-site, accredited school.

\n

\n

Full Time – 40 hours per week

\n

\n

Schedule: Monday – Friday

\n

\n

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

\n

\n
• Providing a quality and differentiated education experience for every student
\n
• Demonstrating subject matter knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching students
\n
• with a variety of disabilities
\n
• Providing a safe and therapeutic classroom environment
\n
• Data collection including grades, assessments, and student portfolios
\n
• Collaborating with legal guardians, multi-disciplinary team members, and
\n
• other stakeholders
\n
• Designing and implementing student learning plans including IEPs and 504s
\n
• Completing required paperwork and meeting deadlines
\n
• Participating in professional development and required trainings to maintain
\n
• S.C. teacher licensure
\n

Required Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related area
\n
• Current state teaching certification in Special Education
\n
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online gradebooks and learning management systems
\n
